Oh rainy days, they can bring such HIGHS and LOWS! For me personally, when the weather is gloomy I'm a mess! I thrive on the sunshine and warm temperatures. I was sitting at a coffee shop working on Monday and checked the weather only to see it was going to be cloudy and rainy all week. My first reaction was that I wanted to throw my coffee off the table (JK, I wasn't about to waste my $5 Starbucks latte or make a scene) so I decided to do something about it. I made a list of all the ways I could BEAT this gloomy weather! If you're anything like me and feel down in the dumps over icky weather here's some things to helped me!

1.) Take the time to relax. For me half the battle is accepting I can't change the weather. The only thing I'm in control of is my own spirit and head space. This means it's time to decompress. 3 of my personal favorite ways.
  1. A warm cup of coffee, by the fire deep in thought, planning out my week ahead, or chatting with family or friends.
  2. A bubble bath at night with a hot cup of tea, lavender oils, and candles. Throw on some good jams (my fav: Christian music), or relax with a book (my current: The Measure of A Woman).
  3. Snuggling up with blankets in pajamas and watch your favorite show/ movie (my fav: Friends). Choose something that places your mind in the right space and rejuvenates you for the days ahead.

2.) Get moving. Get your booty out of bed, throw on some sneakers, and get to the gym. When we break a sweat, we get our endorphins going. Endorphins are similar to the drug morphine, considered natural painkillers because they activate opioid receptors in the brain that help minimize discomfort. Basically, this helps get us out of a FUNK, and put us in a POSITIVE mood. Not only do I look better when I workout, but I feel better from the inside out. It also makes me feel accomplished at the start of the day.

3.) Do the little things that make you happy. This could be absolutely anything. For me it's the SMALL things that all ADD UP. Taking quite time with my bible in the morning. Listening to a motivational YouTube video or podcast. Jamming out to Christian or Country music in my car. Going to my favorite coffee shop and treating myself to a yummy latte. I also find that spending time with friends really helps. Keeping your mind busy passes the time. Before you know it, the sunshine is back.

Hopefully some of these simple tips helps you when your feel a little low on a yucky weather day!

Let's talk about some of my MUST HAVES for Spring!

GOT TO HAVE JEANS--  First, these skinny jeans are my life! It's actually embarrassing how much I wear them. They are my go-to pair, and they are under under $100. I don't know about you but I can't get myself to spend too much on jeans, and why should you when these are killer! These are the MOTO Mid Blue Raw Hem Jamie Jean from TopShop. I'm wear the size W2630. I usually wear a 0/2 or 25/26 so this size is similar. They are high waisted, suck me in, and stretch with you as you move (but not too much).  I came across TopShop jeans about a year ago and now they are all I wear.

DON'T LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT SUNNIES-- I'm one of those people that can't go anywhere without a pair of sunglasses (for many reason). To spy on others without them being able to tell (duh), to hide from folks when you're not wearing makeup, and to block the sun (had to add that). I got these Aviator RayBan in 2014, and STILL wear them. They are simple, and classic, and timeless. These are the Aviator 1937 Gold RB3025 Green Classic G-15.

COMPLIMENT YO SELF BOOTIES-- These booties are the kind that make you feel fab. Every-time I wear them I get stopped and asked where they are from. They are just the right height for a heel, but easy to walk in (I've worn them to concerts and pro sporting events). They are nude, so they basically match anything, and they work almost all year round because they are suede (for fall), and open-toe (summer & spring). Did I mention I found them on SALE. I paid about $150 last season, and now I found ya'll them for under $90 (link above).
